I consider these kinds of statements "Trump will do everything to make sure the 202 election is not fair" ( https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/473569-nadler-trump-will-do-everything-to-make-sure-2020-is-not-a-fair) to be really dangerous for the country. With President Trump likely to say the same kinds of things - based upon his language in the 2016 election - officially, both parties will consider a win by the other side as illegitimate. This is a huge danger to the country and to political stability. While there has been some of this attitude in every election at least 2000, the "resistance" movement with their blunt statements of "Not My President" raised it to a new level. One of the saving graces of this country has been the general acceptance of election results. Statements and actions that undermine that general acceptance are a threat to the very country they claim to be defending.
The United States has survived for 200+ years with a stable form of government, making it one of the longest stable political system in existence. Iceland (kind of - they has to get their independence for Denmark, for the form of government didn't change) and Britain (last instability of government was in 1688 - over 300 years ago) are the current record holders. I think any understanding of history should make one appreciate that stability and focus on upholding it, rather than make statements or take actions that undermine it.
